Our Staff
Precision Iron Works, Inc. has an experienced and accomplished team capable of producing any of your structural and miscellaneous steel projects. We employ 50-55 steel fabrication craftsman and specialize in design build stairs, conventional-complex steel structures and H-pile shoring. We believe successful projects are due to good team chemistry and experience.
Chief Executive Officer
After graduating high school, Waylon served in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer, which included tours in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After finishing his service, he furthered his studies in both architectural drafting as well as structural engineering. Subsequently, Waylon joined the Precision Iron Works team in 1998, where he gained in-depth experience as an Estimator and Project Manager on both structural and miscellaneous projects. This expertise has allowed him to successfully manage a plethora of projects all across the Pacific Northwest, as well as Alaska, California and Hawaii.
Waylon is an active member of the Northwest Steel Fabricators Association, the American Institute of Steel Construction, the American Welding Society, and WABO. He is formally trained and proficient in both Fabtrol software and AutoCAD. In addition, Waylon is also experienced with Tekla modeling software and has managed many successful projects requiring BIM model integration.
Away from the office he is an avid motorcyclist; he has built, ridden, and raced motorcycles all over the world, which he does in his spare time with his wife and son. Waylon also has his private pilot’s license, and he enjoys flying whenever possible.
Project Coordinator
Suzanne graduated from Federal Way High School in 1989. While in High School, Suzanne started her career in the retail industry where she spent 19 years ensuring Customer Satisfaction. She transferred her skills to the Precision Iron Works team in 2006. Suzanne has attended Fabtrol software training for drawing and material management. Other duties include running shop and bid packages, purchasing of office and shop supplies, contract drawing management, and project assistance.
Controller
Elaine has been in the construction industry for the past 15 years, working her way through almost all office and management positions, she has recently joined Precision Iron Works in their accounting role.
Elaine recently moved to Washington after 20 years in Colorado and is looking forward to enjoying the outdoors in her new home state.
Superintendent
Erik Heustis started in the steel industry just out of high school in 1997 where he worked his way up the ranks. Starting out his career as a Shop Helper he quickly started working with Shipping & Receiving, and subsequently moved on to be a great Welder and Fitter. Erik came to PIW after 20 years at his previous employer in 2018. He started here as a fitter, but Erik has worn many hats at PIW ranging from superintendent, to running the QA department. He now is our shop Foreman and is currently testing to obtain his CWI certification.
Outside of work, Erik enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and granddaughter. He loves to watch them play sports and they all enjoy camping.
Project manager/Estimator
Julia graduated from Seattle University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. After graduation, she joined the construction industry as an office manager/inside sales for a stud welding office/warehouse until 2022. After that, she decided to change things up and accepted a role in the maritime industry as an office manager for a bulk chartering broker. Julia was promoted to post fixture vessel operations and held that position until February 2025 when she joined the Precision team as a Project Engineer.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time with her 2 children, husband, and dog.
Project manager/Estimator
Ken started working in the trades as a laborer and then Ironworker. He started working as a fitter welder at the shop level in 2010 and moved into project management in 2012. He is incredibly passionate about structural steel and has continued his education since going into the office. Currently working towards his PE license and enjoys working with design and project management. Joined PIW in 2024 after 15 years at the same facility. Looking forward to learning more from the talented team at PIW and is very proud to be part of this team.
Free time is spent with his 2 young boys hunting, riding motorcycles street and dirt and owns a Gym in Mount Vernon named Northwest Barbell.
Estimator
Tim is from the San Fransico Bay Area and graduated from Benicia High School in 1998. He then attended Diablo Valley College for structural drafting, design, and AutoCAD and later went to Cal State East Bay to become a certified project manager. He has been in the steel industry since 2001 and has experience in document control, detailing and project management. Tim joined the PIW team as an estimator in 2024.
Receptionist
Tiffany grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She graduated from Auburn Mountainview in 2007 and then went on to Green River College. She was in the transportation industry for 10 years during which she co-owned a moving company in California before moving back to her home state of Washington and joining the Precision Iron Works team.
In Tiffany’s free time she enjoys traveling, trying new food, and spending time with her 2 daughters and cat.
Chief Operations Officer
Cade Marshall began his career in the steel industry at Keochner Manufacturing Company in Tipton Missouri. There he became proficient with electro static paint systems, welding and fabrication. He has been with Precision Iron Works since 2001 and has worked in various roles at the shop and office level including Project Lead, Manager of the Detail department, Fitter/Welder, Shipping/Receiving, Erection and Coatings. Cade was promoted to Shop Superintendent in 2005, Project Manager in 2010, Senior Estimator in 2015 and in 2019 became Chief Operations Officer. Cade is a member of WABO, AISC, PNSFA, AWS and serves on PIW’s safety committee.
Purchasing/Estimator/LEED GA
Amanda Graduated from Sumner High School in 2001. She attended college for two years working towards her business/law degree. She became part of the Precision Iron Works team in 2003. Amanda is experienced in purchasing, drawing control and FabTrol efficiency. In 2011, Amanda received her LEED credential as a Green Associate.
Purchasing
Nalani has been in the construction industry since 2017. Since then, she’s worked in many construction fields to include steel stud framing, drywall, carpentry, and now steel fabrication. She started as an administrative assistant where she was motivated to earn her AA in Accounting in 2020. She continued in construction as a bookkeeper and payroll specialist until 2023, when she came across an opportunity to change things up and work in purchasing with PIW which she is thoroughly enjoying.
In her free time, she loves traveling, cooking, eating, and every adventure involving food with her husband and two dogs.
Project Manager/ Estimator
Don entered the Steel Fabrication trade in 2004 as a shop helper, he earned his WABO certification at Green River College the same year. He was then promoted from welder to fitter before leaving in 2007 to manage a Bridge Crane Manufacturing division. Don was promoted to Shop Foreman, then Shop Supervisor before receiving his promotion to Project Manager in 2011. He started estimating in 2012 and moved on to reputable Steel Fabrication Shop in 2014 to gain more skills as a Project Manager/ Estimator. Don Joined the Precision Iron Works team in 2016.
Project Manager/Estimator
Gabe Boettger has been in the Steel industry since 2003 when he began working at PIW. There was no looking back from this point, he knew he had found his life’s calling here in the steel industry. Starting back in the paint area, Gabe quickly moved on to welding and fitting before being promoted to head of detail. He went on to work for a couple different local fabricators, before going back to school and receiving his degree in construction management in 2016. Gabe also has training in industrial safety and health, forklift operation and training, and is certified in overhead crane operation by P&H. He rejoined the PIW team in 2019 as a Project Manager/Estimator where he also leads the Safety Committee and Safety program.
Some of Gabe’s hobbies include building and driving 4x4 “Trail Rigs”, enjoying UFC, and spending time with his family.
Project Manager/Estimator
After school Ken started in the automotive industry delivering vehicles and tracking inventory for car dealers. His vast knowledge of high performance and automotive grade coatings led him to Precision Iron works in 2001 when he became our lead painter. Although Ken was still overseeing the paint shop, in 2001, his organizational skills and incredible memory aided in his success as a topnotch yard foremen and shipping manager.
Project manager/Estimator
Haydon graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, along with minors in both Spanish and French. He also completed a semester abroad in Spain to further his language studies. Having worked part-time for several years in the summer in between school, he finally joined the Precision Iron Works team full-time in June of 2020 as a Project Engineer. In his role as a Project Engineer he helps with estimating, project management, as well as purchasing material.
Outside of work, Haydon enjoys working on cars, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends.
Project manager/Estimator
Beau entered the fabrication industry as a shop helper in 2011 for a local shop, where he spent the following 5 years working his way through the ranks until being promoted to project manager/estimator in 2016. Staying in that position until 2022 when he joined the Precision team to carry on the same role.
Outside of work his time is spent in the woods or on the water with his 2 children and wife..
QA Manager
Rob Dunne grew up in Los Gatos CA, graduated HS and went right into welding school in Flagstaff Arizona. He started his welding career as a precision shop welder, most projects he worked on were for Tesla, SpaceX, and Fox Racing. While struggling to get his side welding business running, he decided to go for his CWI. The CWI cert led Rob to working for a few construction testing agencies before joining Precision Iron Works.
Outside of work he spends time fishing, hunting, hiking, or camping. If he is not doing one of those things he is certainly thinking about them.
